Monday August 15th 1927 I went into the bank after breakfast to talk to Birdie. Later she came to my room. I left Burlington before one oclock. Rob met me and I stopped at my rooms. He took me home with him at supper time and brought me back later. I unpacked my things. Tuesday August 16th 1927 I was up town and later went up to Hatties by car. It rained most of the day. Rob brought me home at four oclock. Later Fannie & Mary came. I had a letter from Joe Williams and from Lizzie Lindley. She had heard Bess Eavens was dead in Los Angeles. I got my supper but felt so lonesome. Wrote Birdie in AM. To L D L, Lydia and Winnie in evening. Wednesday August 17th 1927 I worked all forenoon cleaning my rooms. Went up town in PM. Got a supply of groceries and my slippers. Had letter from Lydia. The Byingtons took me home with them for supper. We rode awhile and I stopped at home. Later I walked to the store. Rob took me to his home. Back in taxi. Cora better. Thursday August 18th 1927 I was busy all forenoon. Went up town in PM. Hattie staying at home because Cora not well. Letter from Edith. Called at Van Meters. Wrote Nettie Moore. Friday August 19th 1927 The Byingtons took me over to Mrs Patricks to The Elder Daughters party. Pleasant time. Mrs Hauser took me up to Hatties. Rob brought me back after supper. Fannie & Mary here for a call.
