Friday October 7th 1927 I was at Matties. Wrote Hattie. At four oclock some friends took Mattie, Gerta and me for a drive up to a park on top of the hills. We had callers all evening. At late bed-time Paul Fletcher, daughter and friend came. Saturday October 8th 1927 Wrote Warner McCall a letter and sent it by air mail. I went down town with Gerta in the forenoon. We had lunch at such a nice place with the girls. Then went to a picture show and shop a little. After supper went with the girls to see them swim. I came home alone to go to bed early. A beautiful day. Sunday October 9th 1927 I packed up my things and Gerta went with me to The Station. A pleasant days ride. Monday October 10th 1927 An uneventful day. I changed to another car at Cheyenne. Went to bed early. Very few in the car. Tuesday October 11th 1927 I got out of sleeper at Omaha at 6.45. Had breakfast and came on to Des Moines and went to The Brown Hotel. After lunch went out. The Williams Girls by street car. Back at ten oclock by taxi. wrote Hattie & Lydia. Wednesday October 12th 1927 I went out to see Carrie Wilson. Wrote Lizzie about it. Wrote out to The Williams girls again. After supper Paul Helmich and wife came and took me to their home for a while and brought me back to the hotel. Wrote Lydia and read Hatties letter found here.
