Tuesday December 20th 1927
I went to the PO with mail. Then to pay for Williams
[care? cars?]. Got some things for dinner. Ott was here to eat
with me. I wrote more cards and went up town about
five oclock. Met Hattie & Cora. They had been to Cedar
Rapids. Got present for Lib Stevens and Hattie. Was busy
all evening. Letter from Winnie & Emma Davis. some cards too. weather warmer.
Wednesday December 21st 1927
I got more mail ready and went up town. Did
some shopping. I got a lot of mail. Fannie & Mary
came and took me up to Hatties. Rob & Cora had supper
down town. I came home in taxi at bed-time.
Thursday December 22nd 1927
Mr Hughes came to fix the machine. I wrote Alma Wenig
and M E Culbertson. Went up town in afternoon and
found what I wanted for Ott, Ron & The Rhinds. I was
very tired but wrapped things in evening. A lot more mail.
Friday December 23rd 1927
I fixed a spread today. Mr Hughes brought the machine
back. I went up town just before dinner. Hattie
came late in afternoon. After supper we went to The Church
to an entertainment. She went home from there by taxi. more mail.
Saturday December 24th 1927
I was busy with some packages. Got more mail
went up town after dinner to get wreaths for cemetery.
Hattie & Cora came for me about four oclock. We
took the wreaths up and I went home with them
to stay all night. A wonderful winter day.
