Thursday February 23rd 1928 It had snowed and was very cold. Mary & Buddy came to take me to the station. Ott there too. I got a lot of mail. A letter from L D L. The ride to Chicago comfortable, went to Winnies by taxi. After supper we went to The Seneca Theatre. I enjoy being here. Friday February 24th 1928 I wrote Lizzie Lindley, telephoned Emma Davis. Winnie did not go out to Austin with me. I spent a pleasant afternoon with Warner McCall. Got back about six. Will Levagood and wife came for the evening. Saturday February 25th 1928 We went down town. Winnie stopped to have the buttons changed on a new coat. We had lunch and went out by Bus to see The Woolfs. Stopped at Fields long enough for me to write Fannie. Then on home. After supper walked up to Fred Givens to call. Sunday February 26th 1928 I packed up my things and Winnie came with me by street car to The Dearborn St Station, got on the train at 12.25. Such a nice car. I rested and looked out. Ate supper on table. The Porter brought tea. Monday February 27th 1928 I slept well last night. Had breakfast and lunch in Dinner. We were at Atlanta about 8.30, mailed cards to Mary & Hattie. Later letters to Mrs Doyle and Lydia. Reached Jacksonville at 9.10. Went to Flagler Hotel and was soon in bed. Such a comfortable trip.
