Thursday May 31st 1928 I did some cleaning in forenoon and sewed the seams to my big rug in afternoon. I had a letter from Winnie and wrote to her and Warner McCall. Friday June 1st 1928 I did some ironing and wrote Nellie Boswell. Rob came for me at noon. Hattie had The Rowes and Byingtons for dinner. Such a pleasant time. At five oclock Hattie, Cora and I went to a tea at the home of Dr Ned Smith. Read in evening. Saturday June 2nd 1928 I went up town in the AM. Later Rob took us down to call at The McCollisters. I was busy about home all afternoon and evening getting ready to move. Sunday June 3rd 1928 I did not try to go to S S or to the Baccalaureate sermon that took the place of church. Walked up to The Jefferson at noon. The family with Will Foster were invited there for dinner by The Rowes. It proved to be Kates birthday. After that Ott, Hattie, and I went to John McCollisters funeral. Hattie came home with me. After supper we went by taxi over to Otts where we found the Rowes and M T Owens. Had a delightful evening. Ott brought us home at nine oclock. What an eventful day. Gay and sorrow both for us. I did some necessary things and was late getting to bed.
