Monday June 25th 1928 I went up town for some things and Ida was over at The Library awhile. Hattie and The Hedges folks here in afternoon. Letters from Winnie & Lydia. weather cool. Wednesday June 27th 1928 Was busy about the rooms and went up town to get things for picnic over at Otts tonight. Letter from Laura. Lydia will be operated on for tonsils today. Wrote Laura. Later Mary came for us. Had a pleasant evening. Listened to nomination of Al Smith for President. Hattie & Cora brought us home in the rain. Tuesday June 26th 1928 It was very late when we had breakfast. We went out to Aunt Emmas before noon. A pleasant days visit. Home about five oclock. The evening here reading. Thursday June 28th 1928 I did some cleaning in forenoon. It rained early in the PM. Letter from Laura. Lydia stood operation very well. Wrote W B Mc---. Ida and I went to a picture show in afternoon. More rain. Evening at home. wrote Laura. Friday June 29th 1928 We were up to Hatties for the day with The Byingtons. They took us there. I wrote Emma Davis before I went. Spent evening reading and talking over my old diary (1923). Saturday June 30th 1928 Went up town, paid bills, got shoes, was at Otts office. Had letter from Laura and Nellie. Slept in afternoon and read aloud to Ida in evening.
