Monday July 23rd 1928 My birthday, cards from The Mason Girls & Elaine Hedges, letter from Winnie. Hattie came this afternoon. They took me home with them for supper. Then we went to look at rooms (no good). Later I looked at others. Tuesday July 24th 1928 I went over to look at apartments on Gilbert St That the Gays are getting ready. I liked them so much that I engaged them for a year at 65.00 a month. I wrote Ida in the afternoon. Spent evening at Helen Louis, very warm. Wednesday July 25th 1928 I went up town after some things, got dinner and was sewing some. Hattie here for supper and we went over to the house. Then called on Miss Sorter, Hattie went home. I wrote Ida a note and forwarded mail. I took it to office and stopped to talk to Mrs Gay awhile. Thursday July 26th 1928 Was over at the house with Mrs Gay to look about some changes to be made. Was busy sewing most of the day. Wrote W B Mc--- and Laura before supper. In the evening wrote Winnie. Hart Spencer died today. It has been very warm. A shower early in evening. Friday July 27th 1928 I was up town early for things needed. Was busy sewing most of the day. At fine oclock The Whetstones came and I went with them to call at Spencers. Hart looked so nice in his casket. Wrote Ida after I came home. weather cooler.
