Wednesday December 5th 1928 I went down town to meet Mrs Doyle. We went to see "The Awakening" and had lunch at Stevens. Then I went to her rooms. It was dark when I got home. Another letter from Hattie tells Mrs Dow was buried at Des Moines. They drove up and brought Mr Dow and Blanche back with them. Thursday December 6th 1928 Winnie and I went out to Loman church to a dinner. I went on to McCalls by taxi. Mabel was away and the nurse was out for a little while so I did not get in. Came back by street car. Wrote Cousin Jen and sent card from Flora. Friday December 7th 1928 I went out to McCalls in the forenoon. I find Warner very much discouraged and bad of. Mabel gave me some lunch and I came to the city and on out to see The Woolfs. My stay there was so short. I had a cold ugly trip home. Very tired. It has been cold and snowing part of the time. Saturday December 8th 1928 I wrote Hattie and Mrs Gay before lunch. We went down town early to go see "Blossom Time." It was beautiful. We went through The Davis store to get the car on State St. It was dark when we got home. Both tired. Spent the evening talking and reading.
