Tuesday September 1st 1925 I was busy with my own affairs in forenoon. Slept in PM. Later Mr & Mrs Clarke were here. Before they left Mrs Ashron came to take Lydia and me to ride. When we got back Mr Haskins and a friend were here. The evening I spent at home. Lizzie Duncan rode with us. 14 years since Mother died. Wednesday September 2nd 1925 I did my packing and Mr Albers took me to the 9.30 train. I had a wait in Bloomington where I got a better train. Reached Chicago on time. Warner McCall to meet me. We went to a show. Had supper and went back to station. A frightfully hot day and night. Thursday September 3rd 1925 The train was some late. Ott met me I put away my things and talked with Fannie. Slept some in afternoon. The Whetstones came after supper and took us to ride in a car they are buying. Later Fred Cochran and wife called. Friday September 4th 1925 I wrote Lydia. Hattie and Cora were over to talk with Fannie about their parties. I went home with them. Rested in PM. After supper Cora drove the new car and we got Hattie Miller who was with Birdie and they brought me home. Evening on the porch. Intensely warm. Letter from L D L. Saturday September 5th 1925 It was too hot to do anything in AM. I went back to town with Ott after dinner. Was at Jennie Serritts to call on the Woolfs from Delavan. Frank brought me home. Later I rode to town with Ott & Fannie. I wrote L D L. The evening on the porch. A slight shower cooled things some.
