Wednesday July 28th 1926 A very warm day. Edith varnishing wood work. I wrote to LeGrand, Mary Holson, Mrs Peckham, & L D L. Knit some on bag. Thursday July 29th 1926 I knit some. Wrote Winnie Laurence and W B Mc--- Slept awhile in PM. Evening on the porch. warm. Friday July 30th 1926 A frightfully hot day. Finished bead bag. Had letters from Hattie & Cora. Wrote M T Owens. I heard Warren Cottrell had died suddenly in Chicago. Rain tonight Saturday July 31st 1926 Still raining some. Edith up town twice. I was home. Did some fancy work. Wrote Hattie & Fannie Sunday August 1st 1926 I went to S S and church by taxi. It rained some in PM. I wrote Cousin Jen & Emily Toon. Read some. Monday August 2nd 1926 Busy in AM. Went over to Lizzie Duncans by taxi in afternoon. Carl brought me home. A fine letter from The Girls. Edith busy about the yard with help. Tuesday August 3rd 1926 Edith washed and we did the ironing. Letter from Ida. I slept in PM. I see in Iowa City paper Mary Cox has another baby - a boy. We both went early to bed. Wednesday August 4th 1926 About as warm as ever. George Parsons and wife here from Lincoln with Janie Merriles for dinner. An enjoyable day. James Sattle came too. They went back to Lincoln in his car. Evening on the porch. Letter from Ida.
