Saturday September 11th 1926 Laura went to Peoria. The girls were busy with the work. I worked on the rug all day. Had a letter from Ott with Bank statement. It warmed up late in the day, looked like rain. Sunday September 12th 1926 I went to S S in a taxi. Mr Wood had brought the other girls over and I rode back with them. After dinner I answered Cousin Jens letter I got yesterday and wrote to Birdie. I then slept awhile. It turned much cooler by evening. Monday September 13th 1926 It was a cloudy day. I put in a full days work on the rug. The girls back to school again. I see in Iowa City paper that Aunt Melindas old home in the valley burned. Wrote Rob in evening. Tuesday September 14th 1926 I worked all day on rug. There was a hard rain at noon. I had letter from Hattie. Wrote Ott about some business. Wednesday September 15th 1926 weather warm. I was home all day working on the rug. Evening on the porch. Card from Mrs Falk. This is the anniversary of Bro Robs death. Thursday September 16th 1926 I worked till five oclock to finish the rug and put things away. In the evening wrote to Hattie and Mrs Falk. weather very warm.
