Friday December 31st 1920 It was late when we got up and did not do much. Hattie was down to Fannies awhile. After dinner we walked to town together by the north bridge. She did a few errands and came back to Fannies. I was about town awhile. Went up to see Dr. Smith got some medicine and my bill. Got on the car and went out to see Gertrude awhile and was at Aunt Emmas. Came down town on the street car and home in a taxi. The streets are sloppy and a fog. You could not see well. Hattie had a nice supper and we spent the evening at home. Ott went to Kansas City tonight. The last day of another year. While I have much to comfort me I have had many lonely hours and times of unspeakable grief. That I can never see Will again.
