Monday August 1st 1921 The girls did washing. I helped some. It began to rain so we fixed lines in the house. I kept some fire. We were all home in the evening. Rob did not go to the store. Tuesday August 2nd 1921 We put the house in order and got dinner for company. Dorothy, Clara, Mildred and her children were here for the day. Cora ironed and after they went home and I did the dinner dishes. Hattie down to Otts awhile. We rode after supper taking Fannie with us. Wednesday August 3rd 1921 We rode over town to see the show parade and do errands. The girls bought a new gas stove. Hattie is having a chimney put on her kitchen. I slept in afternoon. Then dressed and went down to Fannies. I met Mary for the first time. All spent the evening at home. Thursday August 4th 1921 I was sewing most of forenoon. The Whetstones and Fannie went to Cedar Rapids for Margie. We took a little ride late in the evening. Letter from Lydia. Friday August 5th 1921 We took a ride early. Was at George Stevens for corn and took Margie to Coralville to call. How I wanted to go to my home and find Will. The girls went on to town. I slept in afternoon. The young folks went for picnic. I wrote Lydia, Hattie and I rode to town to hear the band with Otts folks. Came home to escape a storm. Hot evening.
