Saturday August 27th 1921 The girls went to make calls in the AM. Hattie busy in her kitchen. I cleaned up my part of the house. I rested awhile in afternoon. We rode to town after supper. Sunday August 28th 1921 Hattie took an early start to go to Keokuk with The Byingtson. Blanches friends came about noon to take her home. Cora, Rob & Little Robert went to Sheldricks to dinner. I ate a very little here. I read the papers and slept awhile. The folks were riding late in the afternoon. Monday August 29th 1921 It was a frightful hot day. The girls did the washing. I was not able to get up till noon. Did not eat all day. I am suffering with my stomach. Evening on the porch. Tuesday August 30th 1921 I do not feel well. At home all day. I sewed a little. The girls did their ironing. I had a letter from Mrs Pickens. Wednesday August 31st 1921 We started to go to Cedar Rapids but found the roads muddy at North Liberty and turned back. I stopped for a Chiro treatment. Home at noon with Otts folks down there in PM awhile. Went to band concert in the evening. I feel better. Thursday September 1st 1921 I did some washing in forenoon. Went to Old Settlers Picnic in afternoon with Hattie and Otts folks. I sewed some after I got home. We rode our past Coralville after supper and to town. I read to Hattie after we got home. Ten years today since Mothers sufferings were ended by death.
