Monday July 31st 1922 Lizzie & I were up town most of the forenoon. I had letter from Hattie with others enclosed and one from Ida. PM here. Tuesday August 1st 1922 Was here all AM. Slept in PM. Wrote Hattie. We went up town about for oclock. Later to Mrs Bates. They took us to ride. Wednesday August 2nd 1922 Wrote Ida in AM. After noon Lizzie and I went to [Tenino?] in stage to visit Rob Cohorn and family. Took ride after supper. Thursday August 3rd 1922 Had a pleasant day with the folks. They brought us home after supper. Letters from Hattie & Mrs Parsons, Iowa City paper too. Friday August 4th 1922 Was here till after supper. We walked to station to inquire about trains. Called at Bartons. Wrote Laura, Hattie & Cousin Jen. Saturday August 5th 1922 We left for Tacoma at 10.30. After some delay reached Point Defiance where the Iowa Picnic was in progress. I met the other Iowa Reed of which we heard when Will & I were here together 6 years ago. Had a fine Auto ride with a Mr Burmeister, a graduate of S U I. Went with Mrs Art Robinson to their home in Puyallup where we spent pleasant evening. Sunday August 6th 1922 Art Robinson took Lizzie and me to Sumner to call on Mrs Swarthout. After dinner they took us to the depot at Tacoma and we came home on the train reaching here at 7.05. A pleasant time. Letters from Ott & Warner McCall. He tells me Mrs McCall died the 16th of May.
