Monday January 1st 1923. Was busy with my own affairs all AM. The Byingtons here for dinner. I rode to town with them when they took Mary to the 3.30 train. Hattie & Birdie walked to town to a picture show. Rob & Cora to Sheldricks for supper. Tuesday January 2nd 1923. I was busy with my packing all forenoon. Hattie & Birdie rode to town in the big car. I went late in a Taxi. Was at the depot to see about ticket. Did errands at Ottts & Dr Smiths's office. Walked home and on down to Otts where the girls were. The Byingtons here in the evening. Wednesday January 3rd 1923. Got up fairly early. The man came for my trunk. Cora took me to the station. Birdie was with us going to the dentist. Rob came down to say good-by. The train was late. Only a little time in Chicago. No trouble to change stations. Called Warner McCall for short talk. Left at 9.PM. Thursday January 4th 1922. Was in Kentucky when I awoke. Had a good nights rest. The day passed pleasantly. A heavy train and late. Mailed card at Chatanooga. To bed at 9.30. Friday January 5th 1923. Three hours late at Jacksonville. Went up in the city with a lady from Detroit. I called to see the Miss Rodgers that Will and I stopped with. Had a comfortable trip to DeLand. Mrs Falk met me at The Junction and we were soon out home.
