Tuesday August 28th 1923 I did more sewing for Lizzie. I wrote Ott and Mattie Fletcher. I heard from Ott today. My case is not there. A man was here from Tacoma to see about it. very warm. Wednesday August 29th 1923 Maurice Seibert came last night. It was late when we had breakfast. I went down to Mrs Pattons to pick black berries. Went up town late in PM for Lizzie. Stopped at depot and engaged sleeper out of Portland for Saturday night. We had a fine ride after supper. Thursday August 30th 1923 I went up town in AM to do some errands. Wrote to Mrs Barton and William & Mary before dinner. Later to Warner McCall. Letter from Hattie and Laura. About 5.30 we went for a wonderful drive. Had supper at Chehalis and to a picture show at Centralia later. Friday August 31st 1923 I did some washing and ironing for myself as I am so shirt of clothes. I got some mail and wrote some letters. Rob & Hattie went away. Visited with Lizzie and Maurice. Saturday September 1st 1923 It is twelve years today since Mother died. Left at 11.35 for Portland. Maurice took me to the depot. Left Portland at 5 PM. Sunday September 2nd 1923 I reached Boise at one oclock. Gerta met me. I could not get a reservation till Wednesday night. I rested in PM. Wrote some cards and took street car ride after supper.
