Sunday March 19th 1916 Will and I went to the Presbyterian church in the morning and before Dr Wylie began his sermon he mentioned he would resign next Sunday. We will all miss him if he goes away. I rode over home with Ott & Fannie and Will walked over. We had dinner and a good visit then came home at 3:30. Monday March 20th 1916 I did a little washing and swept the house all over. Then did some sewing and picked up a few things to pack/ I read all the evening letter from Hattie Tuesday March 21st 1916 I ironed some and packed the suit case we are to check. Will and I went down at 1.15 and I took the case to the depot and got our tickets. I called at Jennies on the way up town. Got some things to bring home. I went over to Fannies with Rob in the car to call on Mrs Hepburn and Maggie. Walked back to town and came home with Will at 4.30. Busy all evening. Wednesday March 22nd 1916 I was busy all forenoon finishing our packing and preparing our dinner and lunch to take with us. It snowed in the night so Will cleared the side-walks We left home at 2.15 and the city at 3.35. Had a pleasant trip to Des Moines at lunch and I talked to The Williams girls We got in our sleeper at 9.30.
