Sunday September 10th 1916 Rob brought me home in the car soon after breakfast and we spent the rest of the day here. I did some writing and in the evening selected things to put in the trunk. Monday September 11th 1916 It was an awful hot day. I washed a few things and Will and I went to town at 1:15. Did a few errands got money for our trip and I ordered the tickets. I ironed some after I came home and we packed the trunk. Tuesday September 12th 1916 We were both jisy as busy as possible. The rest of the packing was to do. Lunch to prepare. Dinner to get and things left disposed of. Charlie Wilson took the trunk down. We left at 2:15 for town. Ott was at the Urban car to say good bye and the rest of the folks at the depot I was tired and glad to get on the train to sit down A pleasant trip till bed time. weather cooler. Wednesday September 13th 1916 We had a good nights rest and a pleasant ride on to Colorado Springs. arrived at 2:10 and found Mrs Eugene Roberts thee. We got a nice room for $1.00 and went across the street. Walked down toen in evening. Thursday September 14th 1916 Left on the D R & G before noon for "Boise: We went out on an open observation car when we went through "The Royal Gorge." It is just wonderful. We had a good supper in the diner. Went to bed early soon after passing Leadville.
