Saturday January 6th 1917 I had a fire in the kitchen and did baking &c. Hattie came out for the day. Will to town in the afternoon. I went home with Hattie at 5:15 and had supper with Fannie and the boys. Ott went to Dr Morris this morning. I came to town with Rob & Cora and home at 8:30. Sunday January 7th 1917 Will and I went to the Presbyterian church and met the new minister, Mr Boyd, Hattie Rob & Cora were there, we rode down to the depot with them and LeGrand came out on the car. He was going to Independence where he is to teach. Charlie Hedges and Tishie came out for supper and to spend the evening. Weather nice. Monday January 8th 1917 Was busy with the work all forenoon. Will & I went down town at 1:15 and selected him am over coat. Then we both went to the back for our books. he came home and I 'went over to Aunt Libs for the afternoon. Home at 5:30. Fannie went to Des Moines at 3:35. Tuesday January 9th 1917 It was a very pleasant day. I worked in the kitchen most of the forenoon and spent the afternoon down at Woolfs. Wednesday January 10th 1917 I was doing some crochet work in the forenoon and went to town at 2:15. I got some things for Will and myself and was up at Leslies to have a little more done to my teeth. It was a windy day with flurries of snow. I did fancy work in evening. Will put coal in the cellar.
