Friday March 2nd 1917 I went down town a little while. Called at Mr Getters store. We went over to listen to the band and to our dinner where we have had good meals at 25 cts each. I packed up soon after dinner as our rooms were needed at two oclock the men came to take us to the boat. "The Osceola" I rested in our state room awhile. We started at 4 oclock. Plenty of pleasant people on. The supper was very nice. We went to bed early. Saturday March 3rd 1917 We were up before reaching De Land landing. The river from there on to Sanford is very pretty. We reached Sanford just before noon and were taken to the depot. Got lunch there and left by train at 2:40. Came over from The Junction in an Auto. I waited at the library till Walter was ready to go home. We all came back in the evening. Letters here from Ott, Hattie, Louie Foltz, Lydia, Alice Seibert, Frank Stockman about our selling the west farm. a card from Cora & Sarah Stinson. Sunday March 4th 1917 It was very warm. we did not go to church and the folks came home for dinner. We sat on the porch most of the afternoon. A shower late in the afternoon. Monday March 5th 1917 Mrs Falk went to town with Walter and I did the work. I washed our some stockings. I wrote some letters in the afternoon. It rained last night and is much cooler. It was 16 years today we buried Bro Lee. It was a frightful winter day.
