Sunday May 13th 1917 I was at home all day. Did not feel well. I did the regular work and read the papers and some in a book. Monday May 14th 1917 Weather much warmer. I helped Will put out some tomato plants in the forenoon. he got a horse of Ed Kaser and we went to The Farm in the afternoon. S very pleasant ride and things in good order out there. I talked with the home folks the a.m. They went Autoing yesterday. Tuesday May 15th 1917 I was out in the yard with Will part of the forenoon. After dinner Will finished piling brush and then helped me clean out the old chicken house for a wood shed. I had a card from Lydia. weather perfectly fine. Wednesday May 16th 1917 We tied up a lot of paper I brought from the garret in the forenoon and in the afternoon cleaned out the old shop. We got through in time for a bath before supper time. Rob & Cora with The Blooms called in the evening. Thursday May 17th 1917 Will helped me wash in the forenoon and was working in the afternoon to scrape the old paint from the kitchen roof and painted the bare spots as well as the top of the chimney. I was at work cleaning the summer kitchen and got through in time to get the supper. I read the papers in the evening.
