Tuesday July 17th 1917 I did the little ironing in forenoon. I took a sleep and went to town at 3:15. I changed a belt Will had bought. Then got suspenders and a shirt. myself a lot of writing paper and come home at 4:30. On the porch all evening. Wednesday July 18th 1917 I went down town on the 9:15 and Rob took all we girls to Aunt Ellens. we had a nice day. When we got back at 5 PM I went up to see Dr Smith. I got a different medicine and gargle for my throat. home at 5:30. Thursday July 19th 1917 I went over the home and put it in good order. It had been neglected. Will went to town at 2:15 thinking Vene might come I had taken a sleep. Evening on the porch. Friday July 20th 1917 I washed out a few things and did some cooking. Will went down town at 2:15 as we had a letter from Laura that her mother was coming today. I went down at 3:15 to get some things. we got home at 4:30. Ott & Fannie were out ion the evening. wrote a card to the girls. Saturday July 21st 1917 I did my ironing with Venes help and got the dinner. We both took a long sleep in afternoon. I did some mending and crotched some on my spread. Fannie and Birdie were in Cedar Rapids. We spent the evening on the porch. weather delightful. my throat is some better.
