Sunday July 22nd 1917 We were invited down to Otts for dinner. Hattie had called and told us that Otto Blanche & Little Robert had come in the night. we went down to Otts at 11:15 and soon after dinner Hattie & Birdie came down. Then later the rest of the folks including Clifford Dorothy and little girl and Robert Mc family. The girls served picnic lunch on the porch. Later we went up to Robs to hear Otto sing for us and came home at 9:30. What a day. Monday July 23rd 1917 I am 66 years old today. We spent the day at home with the regular work. I don't feel quite so well today. Hattie phoned me that Cora sprained her ankle slightly this morning but went on to North Liberty. She phoned Rob to bring her home and he carried her in the house. We had a good letter from Lydia. We wrote to her. Tuesday July 24th 1917 We spent the day at home. I fixed a white dress to wear tomorrow. Vene and I slept some. Evening on porch. Wednesday July 25th 1917 This is the day Hattie and I had a dinner for the girl cousins. Rob came for us quite early and we did some errands in town first. We had such a pleasant day. The dinner was fine. I had Dr Smith out last night to see my throat and mouth. I am hoping the last medicine will help. Will came home early. we girls stayed till after supper. Rob took us to town for the 8:30 car. a letter from Mrs Falk with Christian Science reading
