Tuesday July 31st 1917 Vene and I went down on the 9:30 car and to see Dr Smith. He gave me more medicine. Rob took us down to Uncle Jims where we had a pleasant visit of nearly two hours when he came for us and we went to Hatties for dinner. Rob brought Blanche & Little Robert from the afternoon train and Vene and I back for the 3:50 car. I was very tired a hot day. Wednesday August 1st 1917 It was a warm day. we spent the time at home. I was busy with the work most of the forenoon and we all took a sleep in afternoon. Spent evening on the porch. Thursday August 2nd 1917 Vene went down to Mary Woolfs on the 9:15 car. I felt very badly all day. I suffer so with a dry mouth and throat. Vene got home at 4:30. We had supper early and John Stevens was out for a call. Later some of the folks were out from home. It was a perfect night. we were late leaving the porch. Venes last night here. Friday August 3rd 1917 I was ready to go to the depot with Vene this morning but had to give it us. Will went and got back at 11:30. I got us some dinner and spent the afternoon in bed. Saturday August 4th 1917 The folks were out from home for a call and brought the Miller girls who came yesterday from Penn. Birdie stayed till 12:15 and went down with Will who got his dinner in town. I slept in afternoon. Ott got home last night. Fannie in Washington.
