Friday February 1st 1918 I did my morning work and Will & I went over to Lizzie Duncans where we were invited for dinner. We spent a pleasant day. It was very cold coming home. Edith came home tonight for a week end visit. no mail today. Saturday February 2nd 1918 I was working on my dresser covers. Got them ready to put on in the afternoon when I gave my room a good cleaning up. weather some milder. Will & Edith both up town in the afternoon and Will for mail in evening. we got the papers. Sunday February 3rd 1918 I went to The Baptist Church in the morning where there was Union services. It was very cold. After dinner I read. We sat around the sitting room all evening to talk. Monday February 4th 1918 It was on intensely cold day. Vene did not try to heat the kitchen but cooker what we needed on the other stoves. I had letters from both Ott & Hattie. I wrote Hattie and worked on trimming for pillow cases. Will up town in PM. Tuesday February 5th 1918 I was at home all day busy with different things. a card from The McCalls. They go to New Orleans. I wrote the. Still cold. Wednesday February 6th 1918 weather very much warmer I was busy most of the day with a little washing and ironing. Mrs Harmon spent the afternoon with Lydia. I am working on my pillow case trimming what spare time I have.
