Monday August 5th 1918 Still in bed. I can help Will get the meals. Adalaide Jones who is home not came for a call. Mrs Jones later brought some rye bread. Aunt Emma and Anna were out for the afternoon. The heat was awful. I hope it wont make them sick. Dr Smith out again tonight. Tuesday August 6th 1918 I have suffered more today than any other. very warm. Rob & Cora got home last night. They with Fannie & Ida were out after supper. Ida has rented a house and she goes home tonight. Wednesday August 7th 1918 A little most comfortable. I was in bed till late in the afternoon. it was so hot I sat in a chair by the window and wrote Hattie. After supper began letter to Lydia. Thursday August 8th 1918 I finished my letter to Lydia and spent the rest of the day on the bed. It has turned cooler. Orie Spencer spent the afternoon with me. We had a good visit. After supper I sat by the window and wrote Lizzie Lindley. Friday August 9th 1918 Weather still quite comfortable. I was bed of in the forenoon but felt better in afternoon. Fannie & Cora were out in the afternoon. Will went down town awhile they were here. I had telephoned Dr Smith and he sent out other medicine.
