Thursday August 22nd 1918 It was fine day. Will under my direction washed out two machines full of things. I put quite a good many away without ironing. I had my dress on in the forenoon. I was in bed all afternoon. I had a nice letter from Hattie. Friday August 23rd 1918 There was a hard rain last night and cloudy part of today. I felt very weak and was in bed part of the time. Late in afternoon wrote a long letter to Hattie Saturday August 24th 1918 I slept well last night. I keep very weak though. Will did not feel well awhile this morning. I was in bed all afternoon. Rob & Cora here for a few moments after supper and Dr Smith out again tonight. Sunday August 25th 1918 I was in bed the greater part of the day. It was very warm in the afternoon. The folks were out late in the evening for an hour. Monday August 26th 1918 I slept well last night and feel some better. Cora brought Fannie out for the afternoon and came after her. I spent the afternoon and evening on the bed. Very pleasant today. Tuesday August 27th 1918 I feel about as well as yesterday. Did some baking & was in bed all afternoon. I had a fine letter from Lydia Robert got his socks he wrote her. The girls went to Cedar Rapids this afternoon. The first time Cora had driven so far.
