Tuesday September 17th 1918 I washed the blocks to my bed spread and some other things. I sewed the blocks on the spread so it is finished. I read aloud to Will all evening letter from Hattie. card from Lizzie Lindley. Wednesday September 18th 1918 I ironed the things in the forenoon. After dinner I cleaned up the lower story and put the clean things in place. Will finished potates. I read in evening. Thursday September 19th 1918 Fannie called this morning to ask us down to dinner and have a little visit with William. He came after me in the Dodge and Will went on the car. I had such a nice day. William brought me home and I wrote to Hattie down there. I read aloud all evening. Friday September 20th 1918 Ida came out for the day and in the afternoon Ida Anderson came. Will went to Al Edwards funeral at the M E Church. I was down at the house for a call last evening. He died up at Independence on Tuesday. I read to Will in the evening. Saturday September 21st 1918 I had a very busy all forenoon. I baked bread and cake and made soup for dinner. I went down town at 2:54 and got some things we needed and came home at 4:30. I knit a little and read aloud to Will the rest of the evening. weather fine.
