Wednesday January 8th 1919 I did not get up till noon. I wrote some in afternoon. Hattie down to Fannies late in the afternoon and Cora, Ott & Fannie were here in the evening. A year today Will & I went to Delavan to stay with Vene & Lydia but had to stay in Peoria all night. Thursday January 9th 1919 Did not get up till noon. Hattie had more coal put in today. She went to town in the afternoon. Ida was here to see me awhile. Rob ate supper with us. Later Hattie went to stay with Fannie. Friday January 10th 1919 A month today since Will was taken from me. The longest we have ever been separated and there are so many things I would like to talk with him about. I spent most of the day in tears. Hattie was home all day. Mollie Folsom called in afternoon. Saturday January 11th 1919 I did not get up till noon and after dinner dusted my room. Hattie went to town and I wrote a long letter to Vene. Rob took it at supper time. weather warmed. Sunday January 12th 1919 I did not get up till noon. Cora came over of an errand after Hattie had gone to church and I stopped crying long enough to talk to her. It is so lonesome without Will. I listen for his voice and stop all the time. he wanted to stay with me. I know he did. I was down to Otts in the afternoon. He was not able to go to Des Moines today. Ida Anderson called late in afternoon. The Whetstones took an Auto ride around town.
