Thursday March 13th 1919 Vene came with me to the depot and I left Delavan at 10:40. It was a sad trip home. So many things to remind me of coming with Will a year ago. Rob met me and we were soon home. I was very tired and had the old pain. Hattie fixed the hot water bottle and I went right to bed. Friday March 14th 1919 It was a dark day. I felt wretched in mind and body. Rob Cora & Hattie went to town in evening. Ott came at 8:30 and we talked till bed time. a rainy evening. Saturday March 15th 1919 I did not get up till noon. Hattie busy with the work. I suffered all afternoon. There was a hard rain about 6 oclock. I wrote Lydia in the morning. Ott in town all day. Sunday March 16th 1919 I slept well last night but did not get up till three in the afternoon. Ott went back to Des Moines. Cora was in for a call and Hattie went down to Mrs Teeters. Monday March 17th 1919 I did not get up till noon. I felt too sick and heart broken. Hattie went to town in afternoon to get her hat. Ida came over to stay all night. Tuesday March 18th 1919 I did not get up till the girls went to town to see The Engineers Parade at 12:30. Hattie came back very soon. Dr Smith over to see me soon after supper. I wrote to Anna Forgy in the evening. Hattie has a cold.
