Saturday July 19th 1919 I ironed in forenoon and looked after carpenter work. They did not begin with till Wednesday. wrote check for [$89.70?] We girls rode to town with Cora after supper. Hattie to the cemetery to Dr Ben Price burial. Laura and I down to Minnie Showers. Hattie came there. we walked home. got ice cream at Baptist church festival. stopped at Fannies awhile. Sunday July 20th 1919 Laura and Hattie to church. Lew price and brother called. I took dinner with Fannie. William to Ottumwa for the day. Home at five oclock. Hattie had been away fro dinner and Laura over at Will Andersons. Later she went to the valley. Monday July 21st 1919 I washed a few things in the morning. The men were here at work. William took me out to Hedges and Laura came on the car. We had a nice visit. Jenie & Helen walked home as we did. Tuesday July 22nd 1919 We were buys with the work most of the forenoon. Hattie had Mrs price, Mildred, Lew & Mrs Broadway for a visit. The men bust with the work. Henry made screens today. Wednesday July 23rd 1919 I am 68 years old today. a birthday with out Will. How well I remember a year ago today and how he sat by me in the evening as I lay on the couch with headache. Hattie & Fannie at Mrs Swishers today. Laura had a long letter from Lydia. I wrote Ida late in afternoon. a very warm day. Down to sit with Fannie in the evening.
