Thursday October 30th 1919 It rained all day. I was sewing here alone. The Girls went over to Mrs Swishers to sew their quilts together. I did some writing in the evening. My green dress about done. Friday October 31st 1919 It had stopped raining and we girls did a big washing by eleven oclock. I went to town with Rob. About two was at the office to have Ned Smith fix my glasses. I did some other errands and went up to Coralville at 3:15. I was up at the house and called at Mrs Robinsons and Frankie Pontains. Home at 5:39. Sad enough to take a good cry. Got me some supper. Hattie was in town. I sewed all the evening. Saturday November 1st 1919 We had a boy to help and got the screens down and storm sash put up in forenoon. Hattie to town to lunch. I got me some lunch and worked about the house till nearly five oclock. Went to town for some things. Rode home with Rob & Cora. I had a letter from Lydia and Millie Byington. wrote some in evening. Sunday November 2nd 1919 Hattie did not go to church. The folks were here for dinner. Rob could not get home. William took me to say good by to Wills grave about four oclock. Then left me at Mr Greirs to talk with him about some things at Coralville. I went to Aunt Emmas and Cora came for me. Hattie to church in evening. Monday November 3rd 1919 Rob could go to Burlington today. The Whetstones, Fannie, and me started at 9 oclock. Dinner at Mt Pleasant. Reached Forneys at two oclock. Hattie and I visited with the girls while the rest went downtown. They started back at 4:30. we girls went to bed early.
