Thursday April 4th 1912 I went down at [8:15?] to see Hattie. Susie F. Smith was there too. Hattie and I went to town together at about 2:30. I got some things and come home with Will an hour later. It was warm, the snow is nearly all melted and the river is very high. the ice went out a few days ago. A letter from Cora today. Friday April 5th 1912. It was as warm as summer. I put in nearly all day sweeping, cleaning, washing windows & Will about home all day. I got a lot of mail ready in the evening. wrote to Cora. Saturday April 6th 1912. I was at home all day sewing what spare time I had The wind blow very hard. Will to town in the afternoon. I wrote to Mary Briggs in the evening. Sunday April 7th 1912 Weather cold but pleasanter. I went to church in the morning. Wrote some after dinner and read the papers. I had intended to go down home to talk business but will go tomorrow. Monday April 8th 1912. Will helped me do a big washing and the clothes were all dry by noon. I went down town and was up in the office to have a long talk with Ott. It was nearly supper time when I got over home. Ott came up there in the evening and we divided up some of Mother's property in a way that seemed best as Hattie and I talked last Friday and we think would have pleased her. I take the west farm, some abstract stock and a loan. Hattie some abstract and bank stock and Ott bank stock and he and Hattie the home place. Nellie gets the money for [valley?] [40?] and we still have the 15 acres. Dear mother if she could only [care?] it for years yet.
