Saturday May 11th 1912 It rained all forenoon. Will went to town and got a new suit he had ordered made and bought himself a new rain coat. I worked all day at cleaning closets and wood work up stairs and took up the matting in the hall. Will to town awhile in the afternoon. I am all done cleaning up stairs now. Sunday May 12th 1912 It is 26 years today since Will and I were married. We had thought to take a little trip to Cedar Rapids for our dinner. But it was late when we got up and a cold wind blowing. We felt too tired to undertake it. I did the work and looked after the setting hens. Did baking and got the dinner. I went down to Woolfs in afternoon. Monday May 13th 1912 A fine day. I washed and irong both and worked some in the yard. Will finished plowing the little field and planted the corn. We felt we made a good begining for the week. Tuesday May 14th 1912. Will mowed the yard and I raked the grass. I worked most of the day in the strawberry bed. Will plowed more potatoes and helped George [Hamer?] some. We set out the tomato plants. I had a letter from Lorna. she comes June 17th Wednesday May 15th 1912 Will put in the forenoon cutting weeds about the place. I got things out of the sitting room. In the afternoon we took up the dining room carpet and Will cleaned both of them. I got the wood work in the front room cleaned.
