Monday May 20th 1912 A nice day. I was busy with taking the ltitle chickens of the nest and doing a little more at the cleaning. Tuesday May 21st 1912 We heard today that Aunt Lydia died yesterday. The telegram came to Uncle Jim. Hattie told me of an article in the paper in relation to some battle Mr Dow was having in a black mail suit. I am still being with the chickens. Will got me some boxes to put them in. Wednesday May 22d 1912 Will helped me fix coops and we put out three hens. I still have another in the house. I have 140 little ones. I went down to the May Musical Festival in the afternoon. Got home at 4.30 got supper and worked in the yard. Hattie has Mrs Falk with her from Davenport. Thursday May 25th 1912 Will did some more work in the yard. I washed more wood-work and did baking. Took care of my chickens & got dinner. I rested some after dinner and cut out some curtains. Will and I drive down town just before supper for some things. It was late when we had supper. Friday May 24th 1912 Will helped me some with the washing and I got a lot of other work done before dinner. Will cleaned the chicken house and then went away to town after wood work. I ironed and painted some screens and he put then in when he came home. It was a fine day to work and I got an awful let down. Ott went to Dakota tonight.
