Friday July 19th 1912 We took our dinners and climbed to the top of Flag Staff mountain before noon. Took some pictures and came back part way down the face of the mountain that was rough walking. Got home at 4 oclock. rested awhile had supper and went down town to a picture show in the evening. Saturday July 20th 1912 We were up early did up our dinner and went down to the depot for an excursion by train to Eldora 30 miles up in the mountains. The scenery as we climbed the mountain by train was wonderful. at one time we were within three miles of snow. We landed at a quaint little town at the end of the road. Found a nice clean hotel where they allowed us to set at the table so we bought coffee and pie to help out our dinner. Looked around about two hours before the train started back. We were all very tired. got some supper and went to bed early. Letters from home say things are going all right. John some better. Sunday July 21st 1912 Will, Rob & I took a street car ride and walk over in another part of Boulder in the forenoon. In the afternoon we all slept some. I wrote a couple of letters. After supper we walked up to Chautauqua to hear the [movie?] then down town for ice cream. We went to be early as we have a big drive for tomorrow.
