Tuesday August 13th 1912 I was busy with some extra house work in the forenoon Will busy mowing weeds about the place. I went to both sessions of Chautauqua and heard good programmes. The weather is cooler as we have had some showers. about Wednesday August 14th 1912 Will and rode out to the west farm in the morning. we were well pleased with the way the work had been done out there. I went to both sessions of Chautauqua and heard excellent programmes. a card from Lydia. Laura goes north today. Thursday August 15th 1912 Will bought "Trixie & Profit" from Rob this morning for $300.00 and sold "Old Nellie" to John Huffman here in Coralville for $25.00. he did not go with me to hear "Opie Read." but went down after the horses. I worked in forenoon and wrote a letter to Millie Byington at Chautauqua grounds. The folks were all there but John got vey tired. I went back to Chautauqua in the evening. quite a day of events. Friday August 16th 1912. It was a month today since Will & I started west and I have been on the go constantly ever since. I ironed in the forenoon. John & Hattie were our for dinner and Will stayed with John till we went to Chautauqua. They went home before supper. I went back to the grounds in the evening.
