Saturday August 17th 1912 Will went down at 9:15 and I an hour later. I took some things to dinner for "The Old Ladies Home" I never saw such a big crowd in town. The Ringling show was there. I rode over home with John & Hattie. Will same for dinner. and Ott Fannie Will & Hattie went to the show in the afternoon. I come on to Chautauqua awhile and went back in the evening. The Spanish Orchestra was very good. Sunday August 18th 1912 I was at home all forenoon. Rob was out awhile. I rested some after dinner and went to Chautauqua in the afternoon to hear The 7th regiment Band of Ill. I got us some supper and Will went with me in the evening. It was very warm and looked like storm. we came home at 9:30. Monday August 19th 1912 There was storm early this morning. We were late getting up. I worked on my tatting some in the forenoon. By afternoon it was too hot to do anything. Every phone in Coralville is out. Tuesday August 20th 1912 It was cooler this morning. I swept and cleaned the whole house and got the dinner. I rested awhile and went down home at 2:15. Stopped to talk to Fannie a little while she has a bad cold. Cora got home Sunday night before the storm. Dorothy & Clifford Crosby came to Hattie just at supper time. I did not come home till 8:30. Ott came to the track with me. I had a letter from Lydia. Harry and Mabell were married the 17th
