Wednesday October 2nd 1912 Ida got a telegram from Mollie this morning to come to Chicago for awhile as Harry had to work nights. She went down to Otts at 12:15 and I went down an hour later. Fannie took her to the depot and I went along for the 3:08 train which was an hour late. I come home at 4:30. Will busy about the place. Thursday October 3rd 1912 Will helped me some about a big washing and he finished digging the potatoes and let the hogs in the corn field. We had our supper early and I took Hattie down some plums. They were getting slips with Johns Obituary ready to mail. I come to town with Rob and home at 8:40. fine day. Friday October 4th 1912 I did ironing and [deleted text: baked] did some cooking. Will made two trips to the west farm with shingles from town. I did some work out side after noon. I then took bath and got ready to greet Cora who came at 4:40. She put the lining in a tatting bag I have made for Mrs Smith. Rob & Hattie came out to supper and stayed till 9:15. a pleasant visit. Saturday October 5th 1912 I was busy all forenoon with baking bread, making Catsup, and getting dinner. Will went in town. I went down at 2:15 and out to Mrs Smith to take her the bag I made for her. I stopped at Willie Andrews to wait for a car. I stopped at Otts a few moments and took Cora some of my bread. Hattie and I were there for supper and I came back to town with Rob and home at 7:40. A summer day. I wore white. Jim & Vene Mason married 42 years today.
