Thursday October 31st 1912 I was down street in the morning, called at the old Offet home and talked with Mr. Goldsbery. I was at home all afternoon, did some sewing for Mary. Mattie went home by train after an early supper. Friday November 1st 1912 I went up to Aunt Mary Dunlap's for a morning call and staid till after dinner. After I came back, talked with Mary till bedtime. I wrote some letters in the morning. Saturday November 2nd 1912 I went downtown for Mary this morning. Major and family were here when I returned. They went downtown for some things in afternoon. I staid with Mary. I got my things ready in the evening to go to Piketon tomorrow. Sunday November 3rd, 1912 I left for Piketon at 9:45 and when I got to the hotel found Will & Manda down to the old cemetery to visit the graves of those who had been put there from fifty to sixty years ago. When we came back I stopped at Florence Wares to find out some thing of the people living there. I then walked down toward the river and met Newton Patterson that I talked with awhile. I went back to the hotel wrote a letter to Will. After supper Jake Ware a cousin of Wills called. It is strange to be in this old hotel where Father boarded a young man and married Mother. Aunt Emma was born in this house. A beautiful fall day.
