Thursday July 17th 1913 I did up the work, got my lunch basket ready and went to Mrs Dr Gorngs at 10:40 with The Elder Daughters picnic. Hattie Lorie Mrs Lee & Mrs Hartsock came in an Auto. The day was not quite so warm as yesterday and we had a very pleasant time. Home at 5:15. Friday July 18th 1913 I sewed all day when not busy with the house work. Joe Mercer was in from the farm and said there was trouble with the water and Will is trying to get some one to fix the well. Weather much colder. Saturday July 19th 1913 I sewed all day. Will to town after an early dinner. He engaged a man to fix the well. The folks, Ott Fannie Hattie and Otts boys went to Burlington in the Auto today. I was in town after supper. Got some things needed and some medicine from Dr Smith Sunday July 20th 1913 I was busy all forenoon with my neglected house work. Will went over the The West Farm. I wrote letters most of the afternoon. The folks got home safely from Burlington. Monday July 21st 1913 I went to town at 8:15. I paid for a new oil stove at Miller Bros. $16.50. I got some other things at Getters (a new white dress, &c.) I did not get to sew much on my dress. I had the dinner to get and they brought the stove out. Will met Mr Eastland and talked with him about the Well. He will begin to right away. I secured reservations on "the Morning Star" for our trip to St Paul the 26th.
