Friday August 8th 1913 It was a very warm day. I did some sewing when not busy with the housework. Will about home all day. Saturday August 9th 1913 Will had a lame back so I went to town in the forenoon for things needed. Hattie came out in the afternoon. It rained so we could not go to Chautauqua in the evening. She went home at 7:15. It stormed later in the night. I had a letter from Edith Mason, Sister Ida & Addie Miller. Sunday August 10th 1913 I was busy about the house most of the forenoon. It rained early in the morning. Will complained of his back and did not go Chautauqua with me in the evening to hear Madame Montford the woman from Jerusalem. Monday August 16th 1913 I did some sewing and the regular work today. Will went to town in the afternoon and in the evening I went to Chautauqua alone. Ott got home this morning. We were worried about him yesterday. Tuesday August 12th 1913 I was sewing some when not busy with the work Will went to Chautauqua with me at night. Wednesday August 13th 1913 I did some baking and work out down about the chickens. I went to Afternoon Chautauqua and home with Hattie for supper. Lorie is home from Cedar Rapids where she went to Alma. Will came to Chautaqua in the evening. weather very warm.
