Saturday August 23rd 1913 I got up early and did a lot of work. went to town at 10:15. There was a big crowd in on account of the show. I came right back. Will went to the show. Mary Woolf spent the afternoon with me. I made me a white skirt. I had a letter from Lydia. I hoped we would go to Delavan Monday for the fair but Will says he does not care to. Sunday August 24th 1913 I prepared a chicked to fry and did some writing. [Labi?] Rob Cora Hattie & Lorie came out. They all stayed to dinner I read some after they were gone. Did evening work. In the evening Joe Mercer and wife came from the west farm. Will rented the farm to Joe for three years $5.00 an acre. Monday August 25th 1913 I did some washing and ironing. The rest of the [cool?] was put in the cellar and I cleaned that up. I picked up on things to pack in the evening and telephones Jennie Hoffman to come out in the morning. Tuesday August 26th 1913 I got up early to get the work and packing done. Jennie came out at 7:45. Mrs H -- will come in afternoon as she is in Davenport. We left the house at 9:15 and town at [11:05?]. The train was a little late. Had a nice trip to Peoria as there happened to be a Pullman on the train. Had supper at Peoria met Edith Mason and went out with her, surprised the folks as I had written Lydia we could not come. Will went up town awhile. Spent the evening with the Masons on the porch. Ott & Fannie went to Denver today.
