Friday october 3rd 1913 It was a beautiful day. Ida & I left home at 10:15 and met Cora in town. We went together out to Effies to a party for the cousins. stopped at Mrs Smiths of an errand. We did not get home till 5:40. a day pleasantly spent. Saturday October 4th 1913 Ida and I went down to The Court House this morning at 9:15 to hear the argument in the Deerfoot case. It was finished at noon so we came home at 12:30. Will came down on that car. It rained slightly so we spent the rest of the day at home. The verdict in the Deerfoot case was reached by 6 oclock, and was manslaughter. Sunday October 5th 1913 We were at home all day and Ida & I went to church in the evening. I read some & Ida wrote letters. Monday October 6th 1913 I went to town with Will this morning for ice and some fence wire. Mr Vaughn was working here tearing down the old chicken houses and fences. Ida & I went down to Fannies in the afternoon and she staid down I came home at 4:50 to do the evening work. a letter from Alice Condon. Tuesday October 7th 1913 It looked like rain but the men worked. I got a big washing ready to go on the line by noon. It cleared of then and I got them dry in afternoon. Did some sweeping and after supper went down to Robinsons. Mr R -- died last night after being sick two hours.
