Monday August 24th 1914 We got up in good time and had breakfast. Will took our trunk &c to the depot and was back before I was ready to go down at 9:15. I went up town for some money and other things needed. Will was at Coras when I got there. Hattie came at 12:15 to help eat Coras good dinner. We girls went over home awhile and Later Hattie & Cora went over to Mrs Pratts. I sat there alone in the Dear Old Home and read. Will was busy all afternoon with trying to rent The West Farm as Joe has suddenly decided to go some other place. We were down to Otts in evening. Hattie Will & I slept in the old house. Tuesday August 25th 1914 It was a fine day and Cora had breakfast in time for LeGrand to take us to the train when he was to meet a cousin. Hattie went with us. The train was so late she and I called on Minnie Showers. We got to Rock Island in time to get dinner and we had plenty of time for supper at Peoria. Edith came out from Pekin with us. Will went up town after we got here. I talked with the folks. Wednesday August 26th 1914 I was about the house all forenoon. Will went to the fair and Edith back to Pekin. I felt so tired I slept in the afternoon. I wrote to Hattie and visited with Vene and Lydia after my rest. Will was so tired he did not go up town in the evening. weather cool and pleasant.
