Thursday August 27th 1914 I took my linen duster over to Miss Keefe to have it changed. I met Mattie and Lizzie going to the cemetery in Edward Duncans Auto and went with them. got home jist before noon. We had a letter from Ott that I answered. Vene Edith & I all went to the fair, and in the evening up to the Park to a fine concert. Lydia stayed with Jim. Friday August 28th 1914 It rained all day long. I read and visited. Will was not up town till after supper. I wrote Mrs Bryant, Mollie Folson, and Cora. We see by the paper she and Rob have gone to Des Moines. Saturday August 29th 1914 Laura got home last night and we visited with her while she was unpacking in forenoon. I finished a book and in the afternoon did a little mending. Frank and Sofhie Woolf called, Will up town part of the time. Had a nice letter from Hattie. Sunday August 30th 1914 Laura had a lady friend come at 8:15. We had breakfast over and later Edith Will & I went to church. Vene and Laura had a fine dinner ready. The afternoon was spent in resting and visiting. Laura went away tonight. Monday August 31st 1914 I wrote a couple of letters in the morning. Vene tried to wash but it rained so she could not dry them. I marked some towels to embroidry in afternoon and visited with the folks.
