Friday May 14th 1915 I went over to Lee's in forenoon. The men were out around the town part of the day. I visited with Mrs McCall and did some writing. Did packing in evening. Saturday May 15th 1915 We left McCalls soon after breakfast. John O'Neil came to the LaSalle St Station to see us. Reached South Bend at 12:20. Winnie met us. Went out to Notre Dame in afternoon. It rained so we stayed at home in evening. Sunday May 16th 1915 Went to church and had dinner at hotel. Then went to Mishawaka to the cemetery where Aunt Mellina is buried. There was such a cold wind there was no comfort in any thing. Ida Miles came and stayed till after supper. Went to bed early. Monday May 17th 1915 We women folks were down town in forenoon and went into picture show. Will went with us in afternoon and we were all down towm in evening to see lighted streets. Tuesday May 18th 1915 We had an Auto ride over the city before leaving at 10:20. Winnie had surely made our stay here very pleasant. Had a good train to Toledo and the wait there was not at all tedious. We reached Columbus at 8:50 and went to "The Star" hotel for the night. It had been like winter time all day.
