Sunday August 16 1908 I did the work, got our dinners and prepared a lunch to take to the grounds for Hattie & I for supper. We drove down leaving the horse & buggy at Woolfs. We heard Father Vaughn in his lecture on "The Power of Love" Will came home and I was with friends there till Hattie came. Mrs Robinson ate supper with us I listened to the concert but did not stay to the lecture I came home at 8.30 Will met me at the car. very warm. Monday August 17 1908 Late last night there was a terrible storm. The lightning was fearful. It was cooler today and I was very busy I washed and ironed some did some sweeping and helped clean the chicken house. Will did not feel well and slept most of the afternoon. The telephone is out so I could not talk home at all. Tuesday August 18 1908 I was busy with the housework all forenoon I did some baking and churning. Will feels much better today I was sewing some in afternoon on a white dressing sacque I am making for myself. It is cooler after the rain. The telephone is fixed so we can talk home.
