Monday September 14 1908 I went down town to get some things I got the other check for my chickens the two were $24.20 and banked them came home and got the dinner over I slept awhile in the afternoon. Will swapped a load of corn for the hogs. I went back to town in the evening to see the doctor. Tuesday September 15 1908 I did quite a big washing alone in the forenoon and got the regular work done beside. I ironed in the afternoon. Will went to get more corn. It was 24 years this evening that Dear Brother Rob died. Wednesday September 16 1908 I did baking and other work in the forenoon. Soon after dinner I went up to [illegible] for a half bushel of peaches. I laid down awhile after coming home. my eyes are hurting me so. I had a fine letter from Lydia. Thursday September 17 1908 I did churning and worked with the peaches and tomatoes. I rested awhile in afternoon. When I did the evening work I dressed a chicken. It was very hot and dry and as there is no wind Will pumps water I wrote The Reed girls at Portsmouth in regard to a notice in the Chicago paper about William L Reed being killed by a fall
